The city of New Mombasa has seen it's fair share of history. It was one of the world's busiest sea port citys, and held the world's first orbital elevator. It survived being attacked by the covenant during the First Battle Of Earth, which also caused a visit from the only surviving spartan, whom halted the Covenant's progress. It even survived a slipspace jump inside the city. Currently, covenant and UNSC troops occupy the area, resulting in small skirmishes though throughout the city.
